Interlaboratory studies of a thixotropic gel culture method for field and laboratory testing for microbiological contamination in fuels

This paper explores the necessity for dependable microbiological testing in the fuels industry to ensure fuel remains free of contamination. It centres on an Inter-Laboratory Study (ILS) conducted to validate a widely used thixotropic gel culture method in petroleum contexts. The study aimed to confirm the method’s consistency and reliability, key for its potential adoption as a new IP standard.
