What does HY-LiTE® Test For?
The HY-LiTE® microbiological test kit uses a specially formulated aqueous extraction fluid to recover ATP (a chemical produced by active microbes) from fuel samples. The extracted ATP is reacted in a test pen with an enzyme which emits light. The test pen is inserted into the HY-LiTE® luminometer, which provides a digital, numeric reading (relative light units, RLU) according to the level of ATP that is present.
What can I test with HY-LiTE®?
It can be used for either fuel (where microbes can be active in suspended water droplets) or associated water samples. It provides numeric, fully quantitative results to demonstrate the extent of microbial contamination.
How do you use the HY-LiTE® Test?
The HY-LiTE® microbial test can be used either on-site or inside the Laboratory. Full instructions for use can be viewed here. Please note that you will require a HY-LiTE®2 Luminometer to read the test pen results.
